History of Osprey

Built for the British Ministry of Defence in 1953, the “Osprey” started life as a Ham Class minesweeper “HMS Chillingham”. Her service whilst a minesweeper is a little vague, however we know that around the late 1970’s the “HMS Chillingham” was purchased by a private client who had her converted to a motor yacht in Indonesia and re-named “Vannor of Cranbourne” and she has been cruising ever since. She was sold again and re-named the “Osprey”. Her current owner purchased her in 2006 and in the times between the Mediterranean charter seasons has allowed her to be brought up to the exacting standard required of todays luxury charter yachts and she is now a credit to her owners.
